Years ago a dear friend gave me the pattern for a slinky clown, but I had lost the instructions. So I sat down one day and decided to see if I couldn't remember. It isn't hard, might make some changes to the arms and legs. Think this one will be for Tori or she will pick the yarn for the one she wants. For she likes playing with a slinky, though this one won't get tangled.

In the Love2Knit Dishcloth Group on Yahoo we did an exchange where you sent yarn and needles to a partner. Tori my granddaughter is showing off what I received. A set of clover needles, cotton yarn, and since my partner knew that I collected turtles included a turtle scrubber, turtle buttons and a journal. Thank you Alicia. I tried a couple of turtle patterns, but ended up doing the honeycomb pattern, it doesn't show up very well in this picture, but I do like the pattern. We then sent the dishcloth off to someone else and got a dishcloth from someone else. It was fun and different.

I'm having computer issues, so it is hard to post pictures when I finally have some to post. Here is one of the beaded necklaces that I made.

I have to be the worst blogger, but maybe one of these days will get with it. Had been busy with getting ready for the craft show at Chewelah. It was hot, over 100 Friday and Saturday and maybe high 90's on Sunday. When it is that hot the crowds seem to stay away. One granddaughter got sick on Friday before we left home, so just had the oldest with us, and she was a great help. On Sunday her step-mom and little sister came up and that is always a fun time. They usually come on Saturday, but had a wedding to attend. The creek running through the park was well used. It was hot enough we skipped our usual ritual of stopping at Luke's for dinner and came to town and stopped and had salads. So last week was a recoup week, Sam had to go home Tuesday night, and I had Tori on Monday and Tuesday, so had the rest of the week to myself. Did get some scrubber orders done and mailed. It has been so hot, guess we are lucky that we have two pools we can use, and with the girls here we used them every day. today is just Tori and I and so will be just the 2 of us at the pool. She is getting where she doesn't think she needs her life jacket, finding out she can swim without it and can touch in the shallow end.

It's been a while and no new pictures to show. I have been busy working on things. Have a slinky clown just about done, found the yarn in my stash that I needed to finish him. I decided to try knitting with beads and it is my Achilles heel. I'm not sure working on the 0000 needles are for me. Was doing okay, then didn't like how one stitch looked so frogged it, and had a hard time to get going again. So last night sat down with it again and worked on it, was going good and decided maybe would finish it, and then I missed a stitch and to correct that ended up frogging 5 more rows. So decided it was time for bed. Though I do like knitting on smaller needles than crocheting with thread. Have some straightening in the house to do, so will work hard on getting it done, so that I can devote more time to working on my crafts. Only a little over a month till Chataqua, my big show of the year.

I finally decided an empty blog wasn't going to do me any good, or very good reading for anyone who might run across it. So I either needed to close it down or spend some time on it. So we will see if I can come up with something to ramble about once in a while. I have been working on a few projects, and will post them as I go along. Right now on my needles are a scarf from the SASE group on yahoo. Still working on my first pair of socks, have frogged them a few times. Hubby had decided I'm making them for him, so once in a while he asks where his socks are. So should get at them. Am also about to start on an Adult Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmermann. I am trying to use up some yarn I have around here, so have to see if I have enough to cover this not so skinny body, but don't want to many stripes either. So might just make one and give it to someone it will fit later. I started another BSJ tonight, but was doing it in a bulky baby yarn, and didn't like how it was coming out so it was frogged. Have a baby bib to finish, and a couple of dishcloths to finish. The only picture I have of my work to post is my scrubbers. Always working on them, and I do have them for sale if anyone is interested. Just contact me and we can work out the details.
